Tara got engaged! Devin ran a half marathon and is still running on a regular basis. Tanner had pneumonia. Alex made it to FSY, but. Cause of the pneumonia, Tanner didn’t get to go. Luckily we worked a way out for him to go with Canyon and Easton next week, so that will be super cool.

This week Tanner and Alex are doing High Adventure with our ward. Rafting and biking. Should be cool.

Last week we climbed Mount Saint Helens, that was super cool. Very hard, but totally worth it! Maybe someday we can all do it together.

Jen is headed to Utah to photograph a wedding.

Hummm. Not much else. Just doing our thing and missing you like crazy.

Oh Grammie and Grandpa John are moving back to Montana. So that’s big news too.

We love and miss you more than ever! Love you boys.

Our little chickens started laying tiny eggs😂
Aunt Lauren and I were twinners when they came to visit
Avery and Sadie loved the hammock
Game and craft time
We did a weekend trip to San Juan islands and did lots of hiking
Tanner turned 14!!
This was at the end of our half marathon and Tara and my sister did the full. Lauren (my sister) got hypothermia, that’s why she’s all wrapped up. But she qualified for Boston Marathon! Woot woot!
On the way to the marathon
A little FaceTime picture with Morgan on his mission.

Merry Christmas https://isaacaidenaustin.com/test/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=test Sun, 31 Dec 2023 01:24:52 +0000 https://isaacaidenaustin.com/?p=1802 Read More »Merry Christmas]]> Boys, I hope your holidays have gone well and you have enjoyed your break. We spent time in Tri-cities for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun. All the little kids are getting so big. You will see new baby Teagan though and she is darling. You would love her. When Devin was helping Nana, he came across a quiet book that used to be yours when you were little. It brought back memories. Do you recognize it?

For Christmas we did our regular traditions, making gingerbread houses, cookies and our Bethlehem dinner. We also had our code names this year. We miss you beyond words and hope you had some wonderful Christmas memories as well. I wish things could be different and pray they will someday. We love and miss you constantly! Love Jen

Few Updates https://isaacaidenaustin.com/few-updates/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=few-updates Thu, 22 Jun 2023 22:39:24 +0000 https://isaacaidenaustin.com/?p=1492 Read More »Few Updates]]> It’s the end of the year here and some of my classrooms are wrapping up. It has been sad saying good bye to some of the teachers and children. The boys are all excited it is the summer. They are loving the new Zelda game and work on earning time to play it constantly. The house is super clean! Also, Morgan got his wisdom teeth out. He was pretty funny. He wanted Alex to lay down by him. There are lots of funny videos, but I am not going to post them. Alex is also big into skateboarding and I took him and Anderson skateboarding the other day. They were super sweaty afterwards, so I took them to DQ. I’ll try and take some video sometime for you.

Painting the House https://isaacaidenaustin.com/painting-the-house/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=painting-the-house Thu, 22 Jun 2023 21:58:40 +0000 https://isaacaidenaustin.com/?p=1471 Read More »Painting the House]]> So, I’ve been painting the outside of the house the same color it already was. It was so faded as you can see from the pictures. Our friends have a boom, so that has been helpful and I haven’t had to do it all with a ladder. I realize this whole house is new to you and that can be frustrating. I hope someday you can come here and make memories with us. Right now we are working hard to make it into a nice home. Love you, Jen

Tonight we walked around WSU campus, do you remember that walk? We used to stop at the creek and play in the clay. Well, we took some video for you and pictures because we were all really missing you.

It’s been too long since we have talked and gone on walks with you. We are praying that you are doing okay and your last few weeks of school go well.

Love you!

Hello from Canada https://isaacaidenaustin.com/hello-from-canada/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=hello-from-canada Sun, 30 Apr 2023 03:44:04 +0000 https://isaacaidenaustin.com/?p=1249 Read More »Hello from Canada]]> Hello there boys,

I am just thinking about you as I finish my day today. I was able to join my mom for a funeral in Alberta for a great friend of our families. Your dad and I came to see him in 2019 when we were in Canada.

Being at the funeral really makes me think about you and your relationship with your dad. I know you are mad at him, hate him for the things he has done and probably hate the whole situation. You have every right to. Sometimes I am mad at him about it still and how hard some things in life have become. I’m sorry you have to feel that same pain and frustration.

Today at the funeral I was just thinking about how life is so short and we can have an ability to influence and love others with that little time we have. At the funeral, the sons talked about the two great commandments. To love the Lord thy God and to love others. They talked about how their dad emulated these great commandments. It was very impactful and special to listen to this tribute to their dad.

I know you have a hard time believing it, but your dad loves Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know in jail he relied on prayer and support from them both. He really has a testimony of the Atonement and is doing all he can in his life to be like Christ. He also drives me crazy sometimes because he emulates the second great commandment even more. He is always helping someone and giving his time to others.

Do you remember that about your dad? Do you remember us reading scriptures as a family and doing Family Home Evening all together? Do you remember his testimony and him loving and serving you? Do you remember him always helping others and giving of himself to lend a helping hand to those in need? Even while he was in jail he was called “the Chaplin” because he was there for so many people and helped those who were struggling.

I know it is hard for you to see all of this, but I hope you know it is happening. He is a good man, who mad some really crappy choices. We are all learning from those choices. All you boys, my kids, my family, your families, your dad, people in our community, people in his recovery groups, people we share our story with on podcasts, youth and missionaries we tell our story to, the non profit I volunteer with to help women, and so many other people are learning from our choices and our story.

I love you. I miss you. I have faith in you and your strengths. I pray for you all, I pray for your mom, your grandparents, Michael on how to best help you reunify, I pray for your Dad. This whole thing is such a huge mess, that I pray it will all somehow workout. I have faith that it will. Heavenly Father and Jesus love you boys and things will work out, no matter what that looks like, I know it will all workout. Love you.

Love Jen

Thinking about you https://isaacaidenaustin.com/thinking-about-you/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=thinking-about-you Mon, 24 Apr 2023 16:03:46 +0000 https://isaacaidenaustin.com/?p=813 Wednesday I took the boys to the temple to do baptisms. It made me wonder if you ever get to go to the temple and if Austin has even been able to go. We missed you there.

I hope you know we are always thinking about you and missing you!
